- As a child, what did you find yourself most frequently stuck in – Victim, Perpetrator, or Rescuer?
- How about your parents and siblings, what roles did you see them play most frequently?
- Were you aware that you were playing any of these roles, or was it unconscious?
- Were other people involved in playing ‘their’ roles aware of it, or not?
- Did you feel that you needed to play any one of these roles to feel/ remain safe?
- Do you think that anybody needs to play any one of these roles to feel/ remain safe?
- What were the thoughts, feelings, and emotions that preceded you taking on any one of these roles?
- How about now? What is your default role?
- Do you play the same role at work? With your friends? With your partner? With your family? With strangers?
- What are the thoughts, feelings, and emotions that precede you taking on any of the 3 roles – Victim, Perpetrator, or Rescuer?
- How often do you find yourself taking on any of these 3 roles?
- Describe 3 circumstances where you find yourself taking on the victim role.
- Do the same for the perpetrator and rescuer roles.
- What do you see in common in all 3 circumstances for each role?
- What do you see in common in all of these situations, no matter what role you are playing?
